Harold Stevenson was born in Longport on 29th July 1892 to William and Annie Stevenson. William was born in Wolstanton and Annie in Worcestershire. They had 6 children, two of which did not survive childhood.

According to the 1901 Census,the family was living at 16 Princes Square, Burslem.

By 1908 when Harold was a Scout, it appears the family had moved to 159 Watlands View. However, by the 1911 Census, they were living at 16 Sparrow Terrace. William was dead and Harold worked in a Potter’s Sliphouse.

We know nothing more of Harold’s life other than he passed away between January and March 1975 aged 82. He was still living in the Stoke area at the time.

NOTE:
We cannot be CERTAIN that this is ‘our’ Harold Stevenson as he is not at the same address in 1901, 1908 or 1911, but he does seem to be the only Harold Stevenson in the area of the right age and therefore it is highly likely that this is him.
