The highlight of the Scouting year was the summer camp. This would be where the Scout Troop, and latterly the Venture Unit, would go off to a location in another part of the country (or abroad) and camp for a week (or more) and participate in various Scouting activities. These would include hiking, climbing, abseiling, visiting local attractions, on camp activities such as games and zip lines and even visiting the local beach!
