The Famous Executive & the Future

When the Scout Troop restarted in 1983, the Group recruited its first Group Executive Committee to help the Group run itself and raise funds to equip the new Troop. The core of the Group’s Executive Committee was Mike Gritton, Irene O’Donnell and Maureen Lowndes who agreed to fill the positions of Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

They occupied these posts until 2002 when they decided that after 19 years it was time to step down. In that time they helped to manage the Group and raise many thousands of pounds to equip the sections of the Group.

The Group requested they they be awarded the Medal of Merit for their hard work and devotion. On 25/09/03, at Potteries Central District’s Annual General Meeting they were presented with their medals and certificates by Phil Shemilt from the County.
